HAY FOR SALE
We have approximately 100 round bales of hay for sale! If you know of anyone who is in need of hay, please send them our way. We also are looking for someone to take over the job of baling the hay at the airport. If you know of someone who bales hay please send them our way as well.

RECURRENT TRAINING
I’ve just recently returned from recurrent training that I am required to perform each year. If you’re anything like me it’s a major event. Not only are you forced to travel and be away from your family, but the training is very stressful!

The instructors at these schools really put you thru the paces. How many times in the airplane do you experience flying around on one engine that’s on fire, a gyro that has just failed and an inverter that just gave up as well!!!

It’s probably also a given that this all happened while you’re shooting an approach to minimums or you’ve just been informed that the runway you were landing on just closed and you’ll be forced to circle to another runway!!! Whew!

I tell this story to raise the question of training. Most of us are not forced to endure this type of training each year. Most of us fly smaller aircraft that do not require recurrent training, little alone training in a simulator.

As pilots of single or multi-engine aircraft it is imperative that we continue to train each year to maintain our currency and our skills in our aircraft. Each of us should participate in the FAA Wings program; train periodically with a CFI or at the very least fly with a safety pilot.

We should all strive to not only maintain our skills but improve upon them yearly. Give your CFI a call today and schedule a bi-annual flight review or an instrument proficiency check. Get out of your comfort zone just a little bit. You’ll be a safer pilot for putting forth the effort.
